CONTACT LENSES
CONTACT LENS ASSESSMENT
Many people like to wear contact lenses instead of glasses or in addition to them for specific things (sports, dancing, socialising).
Almost all prescriptions can be fitted with some kind of contact lens, even if you are dealing with a complex eye condition. The assessment is there to find out all the information about your eyes and how you want to use contact lenses so we can provide you with the most accurate fitting possible.
Alongside eye health tests, prescription calculation and corneal measurements we’ll ask you to explain how often and for how long you want to use contacts. With this information, your optometrist will be able to fit you with a pair that suits your eye care needs and your lifestyle
THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF LENSES
We supply soft lenses in the main with some gas permeable lenses where required. The majority of our wearers use disposable lenses to reduce risk of contamination or infection and to maintain the best vision.
We are lucky to be able to use lenses from many different companies rather than having to use a one size fits all own brand lens. This means we can use many different fittings and lens materials to give the best vision and comfort.
GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR LENSES
Contact lens wearers need to have their eyes retested to make sure they are still healthy and to check if their prescription needs to be updated.
We offer a full aftercare service so our patients can continue to enjoy healthy eyes and clear vision.
As a community-focused practice, we also take the time for all of our patients so feel free to ask if you need additional advice or assistance.
